Pearl is one of the birthstones of June and also represents the 3rd, 12th and 30th anniversaries. Pearls are an organic gem that used to be called “tears of the gods”.  They used to be so unobtainable that only royalty and nobility were able to possess them.  Throughout thousands of years they have come to symbolize many things including purity and clarity.

Antique Victorian Brooch Turn of the Century Faceted Topaz Glass Pin

Truly a beauty, this Victorian antique brooch has a large 31x17mm faceted topaz glass stone surrounded by gold tone flowers and decorative corner accents.  Four heavy prongs are set below the stone and decorative gold tone c-shaped coils are the alternative prong setting at the top.  Attractive antique wear can be seen in places on the metal, particularly on the back. The table of the large stone has a couple of hairline scratches, which are very difficult to see without magnification (or a close-up photo). The c-clasp pin assembly is straight and secure.               1 1/4” x 1 7/8”

Turkish Turkic axe Tabar
Gold decorated surfaces
very rare type

This wonderful example is 59cms long, 15.5cms from cutting edge to hammer face, is 3.5cms thick and has a cutting edge of 12cms.
The axe head is fully decorated in gold floral and geometric designs to all surfaces. It is fitted with an iron collar above and below the head and carries another cap to the base of the haft.
Between these fittings is an iron support/grip bar with brass tack fittings. All surfaces of the iron fittings are decorated in a similar manner to the axe head.
The haft is a hard wood construction covered in a fine ‘cloth’? covering. There is a small hole through the haft approx 2/3rds of the way along the the haft.

A very fine well preserved Turkic axe of very good quality and of a form rarely seen.
